In my silent moments, I ponder about years of leapfrogging life's hurdles and taking on battles for this willow tree that I'm looking at and everything it represents. I recall when the damp earth and lonely trees was all there was, and how my ingenious husband and I put the bricks and walls together. I remember how Willows grew beautifully from its humble beginnings, and how it has brought smiles to people's faces -- including mine. But what I really see behind the success of Willows is the humble collaboration of experienced team members, volunteers and friends all working together to get it off the ground, just as an artist blend many colors to create a masterpiece."

William Feather described what I feel at times when he said, "Something that has always puzzled me all my life is why, when I am in special need of help, the good deed is usually done by somebody on whom I have no claim."
